Newsletter stream #18 (12/2025)

Editorial

Welcome to the eighteenth issue of the process mining newsletter!

In this issue, we look back at the successful ICPM 2025 conference with its General Chair, Andrea Delgado, associate professor at Universidad de la República. We also look forward to the ICPM Industry Days, which will be held in March 2026 in Karlsruhe, Germany, and is announced in this issue by one Julian Lebherz, co-organizer of the upcoming special edition of our flagship conference. Martin Kabierski, postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vienna, Austria (and awarded the Best PhD Dissertation Award at ICPM 2025), goes through his academic story involving aspects of data representativeness and data completeness. The OCED standard is continuing its development process. Recent milestones and upcoming stages are announced by its working group in this issue, together with invitations to participate in the community effort. In addition, we have three more calls to action: a call for survey participation on process mining teaching challenges by Irina Tentina, a call for papers of a special issue of the Information Systems journal on Collaborative Process Mining by Lorenzo Rossi, Andrea Delgado, Sara Pettinari, Mahsa Pourbafrani, and Mathias Weske, a call for papers of a special collection of the Process Science journal entitled Caring for Health Processes by Daniel Fürstenau, Niels Martin, Melanie Reuter-Oppermann, and Paulus Torkki. We conclude this issue with an interview with Julian Theis (Deloitte), the recently appointed co-lead of the OCED working group.
