Call for papers: Novel Applications of Blockchain for Information Systems and Business Process Management
challenge and study publication outletAnnounded by Giovanni Meroni, Andrea Morichetta, and Mattia Salnitri

In an interconnected society, organisations need innovative solutions to build trustworthy systems. Blockchain technology is a promising solution in the Information Systems and Business Process Management fields. It ensures data integrity and immutability without a central authority, enhancing trust among different organisations. Blockchain also aids in designing, executing, and monitoring inter-organizational business processes. However, blockchain poses challenges, such as privacy concerns, slower transaction processing times, and increased costs. Thus, careful planning is essential for its adoption. This special issue aims to explore techniques, methods, and use cases for integrating blockchain in Information Systems and Business Process Management.
Contributions to the special issue may include but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Blockchain migration strategies for processes, enterprise applications, and data
- Blockchain suitability assessment for enterprise applications
- Role of blockchain in non-functional application requirements
- Risk and vulnerability assessment in blockchain-based information systems.
- Security issues in smart contracts
- Data privacy and confidentiality on blockchain-based information system
